Blurb:

The Mayans aren’t the only ones with a 2012 prophecy…

Long before recorded history, there was a Keetoowah warrior so feared that everyone trembled before his wrath. Only a brutal betrayal by the one closest to him could defeat him. But not even death was the end of a man so strong.

The Time Untime approaches…

Kateri Avani has been plagued her entire life with dreams she doesn’t understand. Images of places she’s never been and of a man she’s never seen. Her quest for answers has driven her to Las Vegas where she hopes to finally silence the demons in her mind.

What she never anticipates is coming face to face with the warrior who has haunted her her entire life. One who belongs to a world the scientist in her refuses to believe is real.

Ren Waya came back from the dead to keep the prophecy he began from coming true and ending the world. For thousands of years, he has fought the same evil that once possessed him. But now that evil has found the one person he can’t fight. The one person who, against his will, holds the most sacred part of him.

His heart.

But if he doesn’t kill Kateri, the deadliest of evils will reemerge and destroy everyone else on the planet. It was a sacrifice he made once.

Will he be able to make it again?

Review:

Time Untime is the 17th installment in the Dark Hunter series. You've made it this far, you should pretty much know what to expect from Kenyon, right? Wrong. I thought the pattern was already molded...heroine meets hero, she resists and spouts super cheesy lines, resist some more, some Greek mythology, voila and they fall in love, end of story.

Ok, ok! Am I being too rough? Probably! I was very disappointed in the last book, Retribution with Jess "Sundown" and Abigail. I just couldn't connect with them AT ALL. There was TONS of folklore and it seemed like it all jumbled up together after awhile. By the end my head was spinning, totally lost and glad it was over.

Thankfully, Time Untime wasn't AS bad.

If you're looking for a new tortured heart throb like Acheron, well look no further! Ren Waya, believe it or not, is older than Acheron. Although he didn't go through all that Acheron did, he certainly had a HORRIBLE upbringing. He has a despicable father and terrible brother (Coyote, which has been mentioned in other books). But of course he's super sexy, like jaw dropping sexy!

Kateri is the cousin of Sunshine (Talon's wife). She's a doctor, Geologist. Her grandmother has been prepping her since she was a child in Native American folklore (yes, more). She doesn't know it of course. Crazy things start to happen in her life and she's thrown into a world that she never knew existed, unless she believes the fables that her grandmother used to tell her.

As Kateri starts becoming the Guardian, she has visions some of the future others of the past. The visions provide most of the background info that we get on Ren. Problem being there was WAY too many IMO. I felt like most of the book was visions or flashbacks.

There is a new addition to the scene in Cabeza "Head" and he speaks a lot of Spanish in the book. Luckily I'm Hispanic and know what he's saying, although there are some translations. Acheron and Nick both make appearances. I very much enjoyed reading about Nick again. He can go either way...good or evil. We are able to see his good side in this one and my heart was melting hearing him say, "Cher" in his Cajun accent.
When I finished this book I wasn't gitty or excited, no anxiousness for the next book (although Styxx should be a good one). I was just blah, it was okay.

  1. I didn't like Ren at all and I find it weird that all these DH and their spouses are related somehow, talk about degrees of separation. I'm glad though that Ash and Nick are talking again or at least Ash is starting to get through him. Nick asMalachai scares me, I don't want him to go bad
